"Reddit" has shown that "Down Vote" has been used as a "psychological tool" to crowd out discussion and make people believe something is "unpopular" when it is not.

This is a simple psychological trick, if everyone "appears" to be down-voting something and, then most comments are negative, most other people will be "afraid" to be the odd one out and say "no i agree with this" it is simple crowd psychology.

Reddit uses this physiological tool beautifully to promote "Cat pics" and destroy discussion, I can give countless examples.

Eventually decentralized information "gets it right" that's why we have "VOAT" if Voat does not get it right we will have the next site.

however i can make you a bet:

The time differences between the "public" or the "user" figuring out which site is the "optimum" will get exponentially smaller.

I.e if "VOAT" ends up as a Donkey, it will be a very small time frame before people that want to have a discussion build a new "VOAT"

I think that a 1:1 Ratio on up down CP is good, with the 100 Set as it is.

Yeah have that subbed ; some of my ideas so far:

  • conditional mute, mute all from X sub but if post from X sub get Y up votes let though.
  • 1, 3 , 6, 9 neg cpp score on a downvote, (with under 100 taking away right to down vote) I.e each down vote user x does he loses 1, then 3 then 6 then 9 ccp maybe reset monthly?
  • decentralized system, make the servers run locally decentralized.
  • accept all crypto for donations and to buy "voat gold" use auto convert to convert to what devs want.
