Was a really good programmer for years but now cannot get a job programming to save my life. I find this infuriating beyond belief considering how many total shit programmers I've worked with who I know aren't having the same trouble. But short of making up a fake employment history and just lying myself into another web development dungeon I don't see programming as being viable at least right now. Maybe if I liked legos and were black I could get a job but I fucking hate legos, Angular can suck my dick, and also I am a white man. What were we talking about.
So I spent 2020 driving for doordash. It was actually pretty cool. I made enough and when my car broke down I would fix it. I was half doordash and half amateur mechanic. Then my dumbass governor decided it would be a good idea to lockdown the state and force everyone to wear masks. Since I refuse to wear a mask I can only doordash at like 1/3 of the restaurants I used to and because of the lockdowns instead of being able to work until 2AM it's really only good until about 10PM now.
I also do this part-time gig as a programming teacher. It is maybe the best job ever except it doesn't pay enough to live off of and teaching each class is a huge inconvenience. I for sure am making less teaching than I would just doing doordash So I might have to give that up but it's been awesome to be honest. If you ever get a chance to teach I recommend it.
I also do some programming part time but I always bite off more than I can chew and my rate ends up being like $1/hr to be honest.
The last thing I got myself into is construction and yet again it's awesome. You get a lot stronger. There are tons of things to learn. The people are unanimously better people than programmers. But very sadly I suck at it. I can get better but that takes time and money and right now I don't have time or money. So I'm being pushed back into fucking doordash!
I can't pay my bills. I don't see this getting better. As it is now I spend so many days working all day long. An 11 hour work day and two days off a week seems like heaven at this point.
So I am desperate and I don't know if I have much to lose. I spend my entire day paying rent and utilities. Meanwhile I want to be part of the covid-resistence for lack of a better term. I've actually done quite a lot for the covid-resistence (wrote a few reports, attended protests, talked to people, held signs on street corner).
Can you sense we are in a moment right now? I can. I don't want to spend the entire time working just to survive. I want to get out there and fight. Plus it sounds like inflation is coming so as I get better at construction inflation will just eat up all my improvements. I'll just be doomed to continuous work.
I'm ready to fight and die for freedom. That's a dramatic statement and I have no desire to do either but that's where I'm at it with it. I sense the moment, I have nothing to lose, and I'm not out of moves YET. But if I make the wrong move I could easily end up the bad kind of homeless as opposed to a more planned homeless where I am "in the field".
That's all I have to say. I would like any ideas you have about how I could get out there and fight while earning enough money to survive as I do it.

Here's the same advice I give most people:
Within a few short months and certainly by the end of the year, barring any major catastrophes, I no longer need to work. If I explained my situation to you, you would scoff, "Yeah, not everyone can get that lucky!" Unfortunately, what I did took a lot of time, it took extremely strong hands and it took a lot of focus. I won't explain it to you beyond that, but maybe it would help you to understand that I put in a generous amount of work, took a gigantic risk, a risk so big any rational person would just make a funny face at you and go about their business. The thing is, it worked out. Call me lucky and ignore the advice if you want, but I'm certain this can work for most people.
Everyone is good at something. Find out what you're good at, learn how to monetize it without having an employer and have that be your main focus. This is where you'll get the bulk of your money and it should be dependable.
Next, you want to find out what you enjoy doing. For you, it seems to be construction, mechanic work and driving to restaurants and picking up lazy/greasy people's food for them. Do one of those things at your leisure, being sure not to tire yourself out with it. This is your second income stream.
In addition, you need to make efficient use of your property. This means using soil to grow what you want/need so that you have some fresh produce or whatever sitting around (which is much better than an alternative) and you can sell what you won't use. Boom, number 3.
A good idea is also renting. There's tons of properties all over the world and buying them up isn't as complicated as most seem setting up airbnb isn't really that difficult and if you do things correctly, you can make a really good amount of money doing this.
The biggest thing of all when it comes to finances, however, is properly investing. I won't give you any leads in this area, but I'd keep your eyes on the news (okay, a cryptic hint...) and keep in mind that taking risks is imperative when it comes to gaining wealth. There's a catch here though - you can't listen to most people. Most average joes are complete morons and can't see through all of the distractions and shit spewing forth from useful idiots to find out what is clearly a terrible place to invest money and which places are actual gold mines.
Then there's how you spend money. On top of having a few different income streams, you need to be more conservative with your spending. You'll notice that many people that are wealthy, who didn't just inherit all of their money, aren't frivolous spenders. That's the gist of why they have money... it's generally not about how you make it, but how you spend it.
I might answer a few questions if anyone gets back quickly enough. I doubt we really have much time.

I started freelancing on Upwork a few months into 2020 and pulled in $40,000 fairly easily (not focusing really hard on it). It helped me build up an impressive resume since I'd have multiple clients and get titles in different fields at once. I now have SEO titles, Project Management, Executive Producer (Public Radio Show), and PPC Campaign Management under my belt when a year ago I was literally working at Walmart.
I get a bunch of odd one-off jobs of course too. I do a lot of quick jobs just for 5 star ratings to make my profile look more impressive. I now win a lot of jobs on there.
I (don't hate me for this) posted on Reddit asking for help getting into PPC Google Ads. I offered to intern for free just to learn and someone who owns a small company reached out to me and offered to give me some small clients for $150 a month per account I manage. I've taken what I learned and set up some accounts for people for a few hundred bucks here and there on Upwork as well.
I now have some PPC clients who pay monthly fees, I am building websites for people (I'm about to move from charging ~$700 per site towards more like $1,000 once I add these two to my portfolio), and I have my two original long term Upwork clients who I'm trying to upgrade from for 2021. Now that I have experience I'm more comfortable to start raising my rates and applying for cooler gigs. I make $1,040 a week (should be $1,100 but Upwork takes the $60 each week which ads up) from those clients, but I also gotta work 45 hours a week for that. I'd like to make around 1k for 30-35 hours of work and spend the other ten building my own business out.
I don't recommend Upwork long term (they take a cut of what you make), but it's a great way to make connections, put some money in your pocket, and gain the confidence you need to work from home and learn how to interact with clients without a corporate gig where a boss gives you assignments one at a time. You'll be able to filter through and apply to coding jobs you feel ready for that you can knock out the park. Some guy I went to college with (computer science) is able to bring in over 100k a year pretty easily through Upwork. I'm finding a lot of successful people in my age rage (mid-20's) are doing fairly well when they use Upwork as a stepping stone to building out independent careers of their own.

Good luck to you man. I will suggest trying to market yourself as a legacy support developer if you have somewhat dated skills, keeping older applications or sites running is very much valid business. Can be nightmare work to fix some idiot's ancient code but the work is in much less demand. At the same time, picking up new languages or technologies really can be worth the time invested, stay up late one or two nights fucking with some python tutorials and boom, you can say you have python experience on your resume. You do!
As for the life status stuff like moving out of your place or seeking welfare, it's natural for capable people to feel too proud or optimistic and to put off making those hard decisions until the very last, but making a hard decision before you absolutely need to can leave you in a better position. Better to be living in your car with $1000 in savings than to be living in your car and also have $0 in savings. Literally been there.
And final piece of advice I can offer, maybe you don't need this one, but I've known so many people who have a beer or weed shaped hole in their wallet that's just 100% invisible to them. Quitting bad habits gives you more money, better health, hones your self control, and is a free life achievement you can give to yourself. Again, maybe that one doesn't apply to you, but coming to understand that literally changed (and saved) my life.

I'm a drifter going around the internet looking at stuff. Wanted to make an account to offer my own perspective. I (personally) think your priorities are kind of fucked up. Like, I'm a huge advocate for free speech, and I understand the feeling that your not doing enough. But I think you need to prioritize yourself right now. I think something you really need (just my impression) is some kind of stable income that will cover living expenses, or you need to simply cut down on your amenities or living standards.

It sounds like you are flexible. Take this time to learn how low you can live. Get a tent and move to a hiking trail type park and learn how to survive on as little money a month as you can. Learn how to be entertained by just a small radio and books.
During the revolutionary war, soldiers had to survive on nothing and they were still soldiering. You are a soldier. This is a long term battle. Don't despair but rejoice in a sack of potatoes, some rice and a small amount of meat. Learn to not need the daily dopamine fixes that traps everyone into thinking they need so much.
Keep working part time while you do this, save your money and bide your time soldier.

I was down and out once. You can live a lot more cheaply than you think. Cheapest apartment (back then) was one of those rent by the month, or week or day furnished hotels. They suck but all you really need is a bed, or couch. Shop at the Goodwill for everything. Oh, and if your state is shut down, move to a blue state. Florida has been open for months, for example. Leave all your shit behind, you don't need it. If you need something real bad you can buy it later. Rent a small storage unit for things that are priceless, and go get them later when you get on your feet again. Don't be shy about asking friends or family for help. I slept on a couch at my sibling's for 3 months after I moved and before I could land a job.

Supply and demand. There's lots of demand for programs out there. Some are surprisingly simple. You just need to find one people need that you can do as a quick project and then get paid for it. Remember, all those app stores are jews serving slop to idiots. So don't feel bad taking them for all they're worth. Especially since they demand you "bend the knee" all the time to keep making money.
For a long term project,I would suggest making a FPS deathmatch type game like Unreal Tournament. A solid hit detection system, some fun guns, and a character customizer would be a good start.

If you don't have time to learn construction, you probably dont have time to learn plumbing, HVAC or electrical. Those skills are always in demand and it's easy to find side jobs.
Programming just isn't a skill that is in huge demand. Especially when you can hire anyone in the world to do it now. Managing programming projects and teams is far more lucrative.

One acquaintance was in a similar situation and I recommended her to improve her Linkedin profile. I also advised her to look for "head hunter companies" such as Manpower (American company), Adecco and Randstad. She got hired after 1.5 years. But the new job was crap and she had to go back to job hunting for 10 months! She's quite pretty and has strong social skills and I couldn't believe she struggled that much. So don't give up bro!
Try to find help to improve/update your resume and cover letter because I'm sure they are too old (old terms, old skills, old way of writing one, etc.) and if you can't find help for free then save some money to pay someone. If you accept cryptocurrency, I think a few goats might be able to give you some funds. Unfortunately, I don't and thus can't pay anonymously. Maybe try an alternative to Gofundme ('cause they are fags), I don't know which one is great though.

Saying this with total humor, this might be the most autistic thing I've ever seen.
First of all, what the fuck even caused you to think about this ratio. Second, why you'd calculate it for the users in this thread. Third, relate it to abiogenesis.
I know why your philosophy professors were not your friends lol. I can't answer this question. I don't know how. It seems so cosmically fucking stupid, and at the same time it is somehow compelling to think about.

I've been wondering how some new users have more karma than me. It's like they've been here 7 months but have 37k karma. I feel like I post daily, and I'm at 5.5k CCP. I don't get how people can post so much. Like @eagleshigh has 1105 submission to v/niggers, and he basically doesn't even use this site any more. Meanwhile, I've been posting multiple threads a day, and I only have 752 submissions.
There was some talk about this user base being fictional, being made up of bots.
So I also wondered if the karma scores were also fictional.
I started checking people's karma.
Quickly I detected a pattern. People seemed to have some constant multiple of year to CCP. Like 1.1 years and 1.1k CCP. Or 1.1 years and 2.2k CCP.
So I started to wonder if the algorithm just picked some constant to multiply by the years to create the CCP.
But then I got anomalous data. That would be when someone's year and CCP didn't have a pretty constant coefficient. So I figured those were the real users.
But then sometimes I was curious what the fraction came out to, and I would enter the fraction into my URL bar to get the Google Calculator calculation.
But sometimes there was no repeated pattern, and Google only displays so many digits before rounding the last one.
So I became interested in wondering when the period of fractions forms.
So this caused me to have to go to Wolfram to see the extended decimal expansion.
That answers your first question about why I thought about this ratio.
Then, I've been doing this on users generally, regardless of the thread. So without prejudice, I'd of course do it on this thread also. That answers your second question.
Third, PeaceSeeker had just mentioned the probability of abiogenesis to me recently, so it was "affordable" on my mind. That is, it was ready on my mind to be used when there was an affordance for it. So that answers your third question.
I do not know how to handle probabilities when it comes to infinity.
For example, on the real XY plane, (R^2), pick 3 points randomly. What is the probability that they will all be on the same line?
Or, pick 4 points randomly. What is the probability that parallel lines can be formed from them?
Even, on the real number line, pick a number. What is the probability that that number would be picked? 0. But nevertheless, it was picked.
Or, of the natural numbers, pick a number. What is the probability that this number is even? Half? But the number of odd numbers is infinite, and the number of even numbers is infinite. How do we solve the fraction Infinity/Infinity.
I guess none of that stuff is related to abiogenesis. Whereas, I think the problem with abiogenesis probability is the reference class problem more generally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reference_class_problem
So I feel that my skepticism toward probability is warranted. Maybe mathematicians know better than me about how to solve probabilities dealing with infinity. Maybe philosophers of science know better than me about how to resolve the reference class problem.
So, in this thread, this probability problem I posed... It's kind of like both of them, right? Well, not the infinite one, unless we consider the number of years to have infinite precision, and also the karma value to be possibly infinite. But those of those are not possible. The year value has finite precision. And the karma value is very small, not even one million.
But then we have the reference class problem here. How many users should we expect this site to have? How would the distribution of this value over that user base look like? What is the probability that those users with those values would be in this thread? What is the probability that two users would have a fraction with the same period? What is the probability that two users would have a fraction with the same period of 28?
These problems are difficult, even if infinities aren't involved, or even if the reference class problem isn't involved.
Just pointing to the difficulty of such a manageable problem ought to humble us regarding our ability to estimate probabilities of some more intractable problem, like abiogenesis.
Regarding this problem...
If we have the year precision to only one decimal place... Then we have 10 * 10 possible values for the year. It has the form x.y where x, y are between {0, 9}. So that's 100 possible values.
And then the karma value. Well let's say, reasonably, no user have more than 100k karma. And if that's false, no user has more than 1m karma.
So then there can only be 100 * 1m possible values for this fraction.
(The x value in x.y can't actually even be 9, since Voat hasn't been around for 9 years. But whatever.)
So then if we assume even distribution over the user base, and assume that any users joining this thread have equal probability...
Then we should be able to calculate the probability that two users will have the same fractional period, as well as be able to calculate the probability that two users will have the same fractional period of 28.

All probability is conditional, taking the form p(x|y), even if y is unstated background knowledge. Without context, the probability of anything is zero. The argument from abiogenesis, is fallacious precisely because it actively omits any context. For all x, p(x|null) = 0, the statistical equivalent of a division by zero. It is meaningless, and can fallaciously support any conclusion.
Furthermore, we cannot deduce from a given probability of unity or zero that an event must or cannot occur. Probability is exceedingly useful tool of thought, but it cannot make such strong assertions.

Confirmed autist.
I have noticed that there are certain accounts at this site with just outrageous SCP/CCP levels, but they are frequently those kinds of accounts that do seem like bots (or people with an extraordinary amount of time on their hands combined with a desire to feed the circle jerk). It definitely seems to be intentional, and that seems important because most of us are here to entertain ourselves and chat, and so our CCP/years ratios are kind of incidental. But these people, if that's what they are, have to be doing this like they're on a fucking mission, just constantly refreshing a host of news sites in order to be the first to post the newest releases, or whatever. And I feel like they must be doing it all day fucking long - supporting the case that maybe these are bots.
But then again, some people just post good shit and perhaps they do it consistently, or they just consistently make insightful comments. Still, having like 100k CCP seems insane. Peace has a little over 5 years here and over 40k CCP, and that seems like a reasonable number for someone who just makes insightful posts. I'm not differentiating between SCP and CCP though. I have decent CCP for my time here, but my SCP is abysmal. I guess I'm not a builder.
How does this all change if instead of a frequentist approach, we calculate things based on a degree of belief ala Bayes?
Nah, it's because you come to the table with arguments like this, which nobody else had any background about, and while apparently tangential, are still relevant, making them super frustrating to deal with. I could picture being your philosophy professor and after class you come to my office hours with stuff like this, and I'd be like, who the fuck are you.

One thing was that I was a know-it-all, who never did the readings. It was like I had nothing to learn, since I knew it all already.
Even after college, after I had dedicated my life to philosophy and spent so much time studying it, I continued to embarrass myself in front of those professors.
Like, if college me was embarrassing because he thought evolutionary psychology reduced morality scientifically, or that morality didn't exist because it wasn't made out of atoms, or whatever scientismic attitude you want...
...then after college, philosophical me was embarrassing because he thought morality was rational or sui generis or that you can't get Ought from Is.
So I got it from all angles. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Too scientismic, or too philosophical without enough regard for the power of science.
It's like, embarrassment at all turns, no matter how much time you put in.
@niggaskissin @peaceseeker @heygeorge @eagleshigh
Eagleshigh did the same thing. 5 years ago on Voat he thought that philosophy meant bullshit, and that evolutionary psychology was a thing. And now Eagleshigh doesn't even believe that psychology is a science, and he believes that IQ don't real, and is a dualist. What a fucking idiot.
So he went from being an idiot scientismist, to being an idiot philosopher.
Only those who agree 100% with me about my current philosophical positions are not idiots.
Heraclitus said you never step in the same river twice. This can be further "reduced" to, you never step into the same river once. So maybe even I never agree with myself about my current philosophical positions. Meaning 100% of the world's population are idiots. That sounds about right.
Diogenes said no one is good, and I find that to be true. Maybe in that spirit, I can say, no one is not an idiot.

I have only the most distant acquaintance with number theory, but enough to note that the most trivial or random puzzles can open the portal to the deepest questions. We may be present at the, ah, abiogenesis, of a fundamental new branch of mathematics here.

I imagine a lot of Federal jobs will be opening up after the swamp is drained. I believe you will find a good one. Focus on that a lot today, in particular, since Jupiter and Saturn are conjoined today at sunset in the West skies
I am a Christian and also a science lover. When I worked in physical therapy at nursing homes, I was surprised to learn that the doctors modified some patients' medication whenever there was a full moon. I surmised that the moon can pull tides, and we are made largely of water, so the moon could affect our physiology, though I do not know how exactly.
Last night I was staring at Jupiter and Saturn, and I felt sure that (if our small moon can affect us) those two large planets lined up could also affect us. So, maybe God's creation has scientific possibilities built in to help us.
The astrologers (take it or leave it) say that because of the conjunction today, Dec 21, it will be beneficial to decide what you want to create (because new beginnings will have momentum and less resistance.) It will be easier to see the highlighted path towards your goals and find the energy, too.
So, tonight I personally am going to praise God for his creation, and ask for his help to clean the swamp, to help Trump win the election, for the media to be true news again, for the asleep Americans to wake up, and for our nation to be strengthened. I also am praying for new beginnings for other countries oppressed by communism and religious persecution.
Hey. Whether the conjunction works or not, at least it motivated me to worship God and to pray. Haha.
Maybe I will say a prayer for you too, although I think the positive influence rests in your own strong intentions.
I believe tons of federal jobs will be open soon, but in the meantime, I bet lots of offices would love to have an employee who knows computers...even though your main duties may be something else more trivial.

Drained swamps eventually refill to reform the swamp again. It's a cycle.
Anam ago
Toilets eventually have to get flushed. It's a cycle.
Bananazz ago
For sure.
Wowbagger ago
Jupiter, sky father and king meets Saturn, lord of time, renewal and liberation. While I think astrology is a load of horse shit, God is a poet and I fervently pray this conjunction is a sign from him.

Build some apps and projects, both to practice and to have as a portfolio. Maybe some will be something you can monetize, too. Having a portfolio helped me get two different jobs (by having the skills I got from making it and being able to prove that I have them).

It has been purchased by Microsoft which will boot you unceremoniously if you violate their 'community standards.' Sooner or later, your project will be invaded by an obese, purple-haired tranny, who will try to force you to accept a code of conduct.

They are SJW fags and that has been proved when they started the controversy around the use of "master" and "slave" terms.

"Since I refuse to wear a mask I can only doordash at like 1/3 of the restaurants I used to"
quit your entitled bullshit, your job as a White is to financially secure your future, all these tinfoil nutters whining about masks are never going to pay your bills and will forget all your freedom heroics when it's over next year.
"Was a really good programmer for years". Good, not many people are and it's a skill that's good for decades. niggers can't fake coding skills like they do everything else. If you have exhausted the opportunities in your area then move. Ask around on programming forums, chances are that someone knows that their company is looking for people well before it's advertised. Whites will support Whites because nobody actually wants to sit next to a nigger in a cubicle all day, despite what they tell each other on reddit - you only have to get past the SJW cunts in HR
Good luck bro

Knock up all of your White female students [even if they aren't all that HB-ish], and put them on welfare. Then keep knocking them up & knocking them up & knocking them up, and each new beautiful White baby just gives you that many moar free $$$s from big daddy gubmint.
It's a win-win-win: You welcome moar & moar & moar beautiful White babies into this world, and you bleed big daddy dry.
PRO-TIP: STOP CARING.

I'm in Kansas. Programming jobs don't exist. It is just infinite interviews with Indians that go no where.

Thats cause Indians will only hire other Indians by in large.
If you can manage to do so move to where the work is.

Fullstack Java.
TheBookWasBetter ago
Banks love that shit. You have been outsourced my friend.
yaksarefinetoo ago
c# and javascript mostly
GovernmentShill ago
You'll also need SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, AWS and/or Azure, Angular and/or React, Docker, Kubernetes, Team City and/or Jenkins, Jira, microservices, two unit test frameworks, etc.
TheBookWasBetter ago
I feel like bigger companies like insurance, banks and manufacturing/distribution might be a good place. Similarly, with a lot of js you should be untouchable. Ever think of learning ruby or django? Maybe Go?
MagicNegro ago
it takes about a week to master gcode, you're welcome.
RCCollier ago
I would say see if you can do consulting work? Tons of people want websites, apps, etc done for them. Especially small businesses that aren't tech savvy to save their fucking lives. I am shocked that software engineering jobs even remote ones are so hard to find but I suppose that is a harsh reality. Also plenty of software engineering training camps need teachers/mentors.
Hoppes9 ago
My experience has been that the people who have no clue about technology also have no clue about what it takes to fulfill their requests. The results is always sticker shock. "What do you mean a web site where people can check real-time inventory and shop for my products 24 hours a day from anywhere on the planet will cost me more than a couple hundred bucks!?!?!?! You just write some Web pages."
RCCollier ago
I know. I have made my own web sites for fun and side projects in the past and had those same issues by myself! Other folks have their own issues. Small business people quite often have unrealistic expectations. That's their problem that they don't understand value, price, etc. It's hard but one has to vet the clientele.

Former web developer here. I lol'd at the $1/hr...was in the same boat trying to do freelance.
Depending where you are, see if there are any sort of "unique" opportunities. Was TSA certified (don't have any sort of criminal record) and was a courier getting air freight and medical transportation. Long hauls from Minneapolis to Fargo or Sioux Falls in the middle of the night was great...but I also enjoy my car and the open road.
Best bet is try to keep learning skills or determine what is reearding in life. Shame shitskins and niggers are the only ones really considered in tech unless you dig and look locally.
ZenoOfElea ago
Have you tried working with a hiring agency for programming work? Good programming jobs aren't going to be listed on monster or whatever. You might have to take some contact work to start off but you should be able to find stable work after a few years. Stay strong, bro.

How do you expect his situation to change, Zeno?
@heygeorge @niggaskissin @chirogonemd @peaceseeker
ZenoOfElea ago
I've been in that situation but now I have a good, full time, well paying job. I had to take a bunch contracts to build up my reputation. Linkedin was also good for meeting hiring agents.
OP wants to be part of the 'covid resistance'. Great, what are they going to do with someone that can't even make his ends meet? Resistance comes from a place of strength. OP needs to get his life together if he wants to help with making the world a better place.

You should become a hacker like in Swordfish and hack banks. Easy money.
yaksarefinetoo ago
This would be easier than getting a job as a programmer or getting a word in with the governor.
Anam ago
You have experience creating a course in computer programming and presenting it. Given that, you could create a course online. There is a lot of such material on YouTube, but none as far as I can see on the newer sites that emerged in response to censorship such as Rumble, Minds, etc. In other words, you would be breaking new ground on those sites, and get a potentially bigger audience. It would be a passive income once you had completed it.
Tallest_Skil ago
Don’t worry. You will. And you won’t be alone. No one will fight it.
Don’t worry. You won’t. And you won’t be alone. No one will fight it.
CaptainJake ago
To me it sounds like you're looking to give up and trying to find an excuse to justify it. " fight and die for my country " what I hear is " I'm defeated, I don't want to try anymore". Life consists of falling down and getting back up rinse and repeat. You move forward and keep trying, things will turn around. It's that simple, don't waste your life.
ONE EVENING, AN ELDERLY
CHEROKEE BRAVE TOLD HIS
GRANDSON ABOUT A BATTLE THAT
GOES ON INSIDE PEOPLE.
HE SAID "MY SON, THE BATTLE IS
BETWEEN TWO 'WOLVES' INSIDE US ALL.
ONE IS EVIL. IT IS ANGER,
ENVY, JEALOUSY, SORROW,
REGRET, GREED, ARROGANCE,
SELF-PITY, GUILT, RESENTMENT,
INFERIORITY, LIES, FALSE PRIDE,
SUPERIORITY, AND EGO.
THE OTHER IS GOOD.
IT IS JOY, PEACE LOVE, HOPE SERENITY,
HUMILITY, KINDNESS, BENEVOLENCE,
EMPATHY, GENEROSITY,
TRUTH, COMPASSION AND FAITH."
THE GRANDSON THOUGH ABOUT
IT FOR A MINUTE AND THEN ASKED
HIS GRANDFATHER:
"WHICH WOLF WINS?..."
THE OLD CHEROKEE SIMPLY REPLIED,
"THE ONE THAT YOU FEED"
ggolemg ago
Indians are savages and drunks.
CaptainJake ago
There are nuggets of knowledge to be gained from everyone.
Anam ago
They feed the wrong wolf. They were also some of the best patriots when the USA was threatened with invasion during WWII. The Navajo code-talkers who were prepared to die rather than be captured and co-opted, for example.
yaksarefinetoo ago
No, I am not defeated. I am looking for a better way. I'm looking ahead and all I see in my future is work while all this shit is going down. I want to fight back but I can't do that if I spend every waking moment working. Plus I am offended by the idea that I should have to spend all of my time working to give money to other people while I never get to live my own life. That's too close to slavery for me. I've been doing it more and more over the past year. I could keep doing it. But I'm following this through to it's probable conclusion and i need to do something sooner rather than later to avoid a wreck. I am in no way giving up. If I were to actually give up the first thing I would do is put on a mask. Until then, my will is strong.
CaptainJake ago
I can tell you exactly what you're going through. You're experiencing burnout which happens to every single Working Man on this planet. You look ahead to your future and you think to yourself "is This all there Is" ? "I work all of these hours every day, come home do the same thing and repeat". You can't imagine yourself doing this Forever and you start to feel defeated looking for a way out because you're starting to not care. I'm starting to not care your life falls apart. So now you're mine starts grasping at some Grand purpose in your life and go out with a bang . Dude you're just going to burn out keep trudging along it will pass.
tokui ago
Move back in with parents.
Monkstar1 ago
Get rid of your place and live in a vehicle for a little while.
yaksarefinetoo ago
I don't know if I could do that psychologically. It get's kind of cramped and you start to develop a defensive complex about it. Plus the drivers seat gets squished, you can't stand up, taking showers gets more difficult. Maybe every now and then but I'd have to have a real strong purpose if I were doing that full time.
Monkstar1 ago
Okay. Get a roommate.
antiracistMetal ago
Same story here.
I was recently recommended to Mechanical Turk and fivvr. IDK how good they are yet.
@heygeorge @niggaskissin @chirogonemd @peaceseeker
heygeorge ago
Mechanical Turk (from what I hear) is very low pay. Fiver is hit and miss.
whyamIevenhere ago
Upwork then maybe?
mikenigger ago
Those sites are a race to the bottom pajeetfests.
NakedWarrior ago
I do mechanical turk when I feel like. I signed up years ago. I have had many friends try to sign up lately and no one is getting in. I think they have enough turkers and aren't taking any more. But, if you do get in, you won't make good money for awhile. In order to get the high paying jobs, you have to first do 5k hits and then apply to be a master Turker (and that doesn't mean they will accept). I've been doing it on and off for years and still have only done about 3,500 hits. You have to start out doing hits that only pay a couple pennies.
Fiverr has really gone down hill in the past few years. It got invaded with people from India and some other countries, posing as if they live in the USA. They had zero skills and just ripped people off. Last time I was on there I noticed a lot of the good people had left. But I would still sign up and see if you get gigs. Also check out upwork.com - a site like fiverr. Don't limit yourself to one site, there are many gig sites out there.
Anam ago
I think you can move up the pay hierarchy if you are effective enough, but that takes a lot more hard work than it is worth. Its only real selling point is that you can get money without having to go through a hiring process.
