What's the best way to defend against government spying with our phone cameras? (AskVoat)

Discussion in the current sticky post got my wondering. What can we do to prevent the NSA from accessing our cell phone cameras to spy (peep) on us? Is a phone app VPN enough? Is there something more we need?

My idea is to just use Huawei phones. Maybe it's better to be spied on by the Chinese then by the NSA, as long as you're never planning on visiting China.

I agree with your line of thinking here. Chinks are only interested in spying on average Joe's for financial reasons. They aren't trying to falsify a federal case against you.
