Project Honey Pot is a web-based honeypot network, which uses software embedded in web sites to collect information about IP addresses, used when harvesting e-mail addresses for spam or other similar purposes such as bulk mailing and e-mail fraud. The project also solicits the donation of unused MX entries from domain owners.
In addition to collecting information, which is made available on a "top 25" list at periodic intervals, the project organizers also help various law enforcement agencies combat private and commercial unsolicited bulk mailing offenses and, overall, work to reduce the amount of spam being sent and received on the Internet. The information collected is also used in research and development of newer versions of the software to further improve the efforts of the group as a whole.
Project Honey Pot was founded and is managed by Unspam Technologies, Inc.. In addition to various law enforcement agencies, the group affiliates with the Internet Law Group and ViaWest.
Lol! Thanks for the ping. Sometimes this place gets a bit mundane. Best answer (although slightly outdated)is by theo at the top of your linked thread: https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/1523182
Sure thing! Although I missed your edit unfortunately. Are you really unable to confirm that Conde Nast owns Reddit? (I believe technically they are their "own" spinoff company these days.)
Look, I don't know if you're a shill or not or whatever. What I do know is that this site currently provides a space for people to express themselves however they like. It will not exist forever. If you have beef with PG mods, then post somewhere else. In the major subs, I virtually guarantee no deletions. Even in PG, and throughout Voat, the deletions stand in a publicly accessible log open to comments. So, no, there are no real deletions unless CP, doxxing, or illegal. If you don't fuck this up, we can stay this way for much longer.
I said what I said about Reddit. I'm no expert. If you want to know, it's only a few simple searches away.

Funnily enough I was looking into this a bit yesterday. Sometimes when voat goes down I get this message: http://imgur.com/a/FBzXA
Cloudflare: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudflare
Cloudflare was created in 2009 by Matthew Prince, Lee Holloway, and Michelle Zatlyn, who had previously worked on Project Honey Pot.

So, lots of data collecting going on round here.

Did not know how to.
I read it from a reliable source.
Does CondeNast own Reddit? Is that what you are saying?
Thank you for the help.

Thanks.

I don't know what you are talking about. Honestly. Did you mean this comment for me?
