I have been following voat for a long time before I decided to join in february to help with v/Pizzagate. After I stumbled across a lot of complaints about the moderation of this subverse I just wanted to check out the origings of voat and who is behind it. So I found this self-praise about transparency on your FAQ.
But I miss transparency in a very big question. Who owns voat? There is no answer to this. And the whois search lead me to find that you are using WhoisGuard Inc.
Voat initially started as a hobby project by a third year BSc student in Lund, Sweden. Due to the recent interest generated by the online community, this has evolved from hobby into full-fledged desire to create the website that will become the place where you can "have your say™"
No legal subject in this universe should be out of bounds. Our aim is to build a site that serves the needs and wants of our users; one that strives for quality over quantity, and doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator in return for traffic.
very unspecific. I was just wondering. Could someone please inform me about ownership and structures of voat? If I wanted to donate, who would I sponsor? This is really important for me. Looking forward to transparency.

@Atko @PuttItOut, very sorry to bother you. But I don't belive that two people are running it all. Wo would I donate to? Who gets paid? Please answer.

Good idea. Even if Voat isn't interested, it'll probably be the model of the future. There are so many people and organizations in the world everything will have to be fully transparent for all practical purposes, or the public will always be in the dark about what is actually going on in the world.
