He knows of the echoes, sure.

He can probably even hear them,

But he cannot see them; he cannot decipher them.

He cannot understand that this echo, what's happening in that thread, is his defeat hundreds of times over.

Or, perhaps he does realize it and that is why he cannot let go - despite claiming that he has left or is leaving.

His downfall is but a scaled-down replica of a larger echo; the end of an Empire of lies and propaganda and attempts to control the world directly and by proxy.

As the Empire loses its grip, so too does he; a wonderful example of "As above, so below"
