I am one of the original members of Voat. I know if I post in an non anon area the down votes I get prevent me from making future posts. Free speech on Voat has always been just a slogan. I created anon subs so that people. Ould have their say without being deleted by the mob. You could never survive here if you didn’t join the hive mind of this echo chamber. If you ever got deleted then you broke one of the rules.

The reason Voat has had moderators and gave us the power to establish rules and remove posts is so that there will be some form of order. You always had the ability to start your own sub and to not visit subs you didn’t want to see the content of. Voaters are very intolerant people seeking a safe place for their ideas. Wherever you guys end up eventually they will have to do something about your Nazi ideas and threats of violence or it will fail like this site did. I am already seeing people say let’s sneak to another site and stay in small groups so we aren’t obvious. That tells me that you know up front that you won’t be accepted .
