The first beer I usually slam when I get to the ranch, (long drive from town) smoke a bowl, do a walk through , then get my range set up. I've got some steels I cut at work, even a few plates that got hit.
12ga is my go to. Birdshot through solid copper door Buster's & everything in between. 5.56 for my ar is really hard to find & expensive, so I don't shoot that at all, but lately my Glock build is eating all my ammo, so 9mm. I've gone to carrying when ever I go out. We became California during lockdowns somehow.

308 on the AR platform is awesome. but at 200m, the drop on 308 is only 0.5" less than 762x39. I guess it depends on what you want it for. I believe a scope is either set right or it's not.
