The outside of the masquerade scene was even a rented Rothschild property. Rothschilds are known for their masquerades. The mask worn by the cheif guy had been worn by Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth, a subtle mod to the real cheifs.
No one had seen the film until the week of screening. Kubrick died a week later of heart failure.
Incidentally after Kubrick's death but before release, the film was re-edited with 15 minutes removed from the film. Given that the movie is very explicit, we can only assume that the removed section was most offending or revealing.
I remember a day not so long ago when 71-year-old men could die of natural causes without people speculating about what took them down "in the prime of their lives."
I'm sure tens of thousands of scientists have come to a consensus that he was murdered just as they did with climate change being the fault of mankind. You're not anti-science, are you?
