Did anybody watch that excrement that was The Boys? One of the major subplots in the show is that the Aquaman character wants to do environmental advocacy on behalf of the dolphins, but the evil Hollywood-analog corporation won’t let him.
In reality, it’s the exact fucking opposite. Hollywood loves it when actors do things that are “authentic” and “real” that will appeal to Millennials. Remember that terrible actress who played Katniss? Same shit. They WANT him out there doing this, and he’s probably hoping that it’ll get him more roles, now that the failure of Star Wars has ruined his chances at an A-list career.
Who cares. If he didn't care about politics at all but he did think getting some political cred with hollywood elites and the hollywood press would improve his career then this is exactly what he'd do.
