Putt is not capable of running Voat. His personality is incapable of doing so. For example: Putt has made the fatal error of trying to make Voat a Democracy. This is very obviously retarded. A web forum at its best is going to be a benevolent dictatorship. But Putt is a pussy. He cant do what needs done.
So. After this latest debacle of bans and then backing out he doesnt know what to do. So he has locked Voat down in a tantrum.
His plan was to expand voat. This is natural. He has put a lot of work in and wants to profit. But he cant because Goats are Goats and theres that pesky filter. He wanted to eliminate the filter. But Goats Cant be herded. That's what the Builder thing was about. He wanted to label anyone participating in the Immune System as a Destroyer.
Except that none of that worked.
So now in retaliation we are on lock down. "You guys want to keep this place the way it is? OK, we'll keep it Exactly like it is and NO ONE gets in"
Putt isnt psychologically able to run this place. He doesnt have the benevent dictator in him. You cant Ask Voat what they want, youll get run down by this crowd if you dont swing a big god damned stick and Run this place.
Your wording is harsh, but I think you are right about most things in this comment. Voat really will not work as a democracy. We've seen how democracies work, and how they are eventually subverted to remove free speech. We have seen that he has wanted to implement a lot of democratic features, and a lot of goats seem to support them, but it's not in their best interest in the long term. How long would it last until redditors and Jews see the weakness, and exploit it to shut us down?
Voat and Putt are at a crossroads. I think Putt needs a right-hand man whom he can run decisions by before he makes them public to Voat. Someone he trusts and that we trust. He will still maintain the dictatorship, but will have a sort of rationality check to check his decisions against.
