The fact is, we DO have measurements for the graves. Three of them from three eyewitnesses. Yankel Wiernik said that there were five mass graves that measured 10X25X50 meters. Too few to contain 700,000+ cadavers. The Hoefle telegram said that 713,555 Jews were sent to Treblinka by December 31, 1942. Chil Rajchman said that the graves measured 12X30X50 meters and that there were eleven graves. Four of those graves were larger than 12X30X50 meters with at least one of the larger graves capable of containing 250,000 cadavers. Rothstein said that the graves measured 6X15X120 meters. Take your pick. Curious how the eyewitnesses couldn't even get the size or number of graves to match.

Furthermore, the graves were supposedly dug with a M&H model B dragline equipped with a clamshell bucket and a ~35 foot boom. Since a 35 foot boom with a clamshell could stockpile no higher than 5-6 meters, the stockpile of dirt from even Wiernik's graves would have been about four kilometers long.

My point of view, and it's outlined in the long post, is that even if you just set up internment and work camps, they'll turn into a death camp simply by running out of food as you lose the war. That seems to be my grandma's experience. Staggering numbers of dead are no surprise even if you're not trying to kill them. I mean didn't the flu at the end of WW1 kill more than the war?

This sounds more like a guy struggling to find a middle ground between what he was taught and what he has since learned than one who is trying to protect the narrative.
