For the purpose of clarity I will just say that I am new here. I am not sure how all of this works so I am just looking around and posting a comment or two as I have been told through a private message that I need 100 votes for CCP points. So far I would have to say I am not impressed by any group that I have visited. There seems to be mutual hatred and disdain for new users on all subs including this one. I find the name calling is reminiscent of uneducated folks who have never been taught how to communicate properly with other folks. I have no interest in suppressing free thought or expression but there is an old saying that a man is known by the company he keeps. Often cultist defend themselves by trying to deflect o the knowledge that others are a cult while they are just a community. Having survived being in a cult for most of my life and working with a cult watching group it is easy to identify the inner workings that constitute a cultish gathering. Some signs are hired, exclusiveness, specialness, paranoia. be careful my friends that you don't fall prey to the idealism that they offer under the guise of being special. Just saying. best. By the way I am a female and could easily be your sister, wife, mother, grandmother or daughter. Wishing you all the best.
Which cult? I've seen a large number of them here in California. The Breatharians, the Sannyasins, Ananda, The Forum, Lifespring, HeartMath, Qanon, and a bunch of others.
If you're suggesting voat is a cult, I suppose you could think of it as a "cult of free speech". We have people believing: "70% of humans are trannies", flat earth, no man in space, secret communities on mars, jews are extremely overrepresented, be self-supporting, and more schools of thought. With some exceptions, our cult is mainly around being able to speak your mind. If you sound retarded and/or can't back up what you're saying, you may get some pushback, but you're not going to be banned. Oven-dodgers might get gassed, though.
Research HWA's cult. Right there in Pasadena. Regardless I speak my mind in saying in you are hate filled. I don't care about points. have a great day.

This really hurts my feelings. (lol, j/k) But yes, that cult was one for the books.
