I read this post a few months ago and legit bought Lugols solution cause fuck it why not. It worked for me. It gave me energy, focus and supressed my appetite in a reasonable manner. I quit it two weeks ago to test for placebo. Energy is down pretty noticeably. Im going back to drinking it daily indefinitely.

I tried the whole regiment for a few weeks last year and gave myself some pretty bad gastritis that I'm still dealing with today. So, use caution and YMMV.

I tried this recently using the 2% Lugol's solution, and it gave me loose bowels. It's not fun having the sharts at work, and it turns out one of the symptoms of excess iodine is diarrhea, so yeah, I don't need an iodine supplement.

Or you started at too high of a dose for your body?

In_Cog_Nito ago

I started with the lowest percentage (2%) iodine supplement, 3-5 drops once a day. Even that was too much.

Oh rip. Ever figure out anything why your body can’t stand the extra iodine in your system?

No, I stopped for a week and tried again, same results. I honestly must be getting enough iodine in my diet as it is. I do use iodized salt for boiling water (pasta), and occasionally for other foods, as well as eating plenty of salted butter and cured meats (sausage, ham, keilbasa, etc).

Oo maybe. Does your stomach act up if you eat a lot of those foods? My girlfriend’s does if it’s corn and a few other things, unrelated but it’s something with some fructose allergy.

Nope, not a problem with any of it. I do avoid HFCS as much as possible, though it's never been due to digestive issues.

I don't know what it is, but I do have lethargy at times, and really hoped the iodine would help. I just don't think it's a problem in my diet. I don't crave salty snacks and eat a high-protein low-carb diet, so I rarely get hungry between meals.

Have you ever had your vitamin d checked?

In_Cog_Nito ago

Nope, but I do take D3 supplements fairly regularly, along with Turmeric, Calcium, Fish Oil, and Magnesium.
