if you're going to maintain a fb account it should only be for local news and events. post no personal information. everything you do post should be pictures of cats and cat memes
Exactly what I tell people all the time! It's good for news and local event with you join those groups. But, keep your mouth shut on your political views.
I started the process of removing my account about 2 years ago. which you want to remove all of your pictures and untag yourself from everything. add pictures back but use something stupid like cats and cat memes. that way fb's internal updates and backups retain the new pictures and tag yourself to those.
who knows exactly how fb works with saving stuff but theres an articld out there talking about cycling in fake pictures as yourself before deleting the account.
i ended up keeping the account for local stuff considering we no longer have a newspaper, it's the only way to really keep up to date on stuff.
