I remember study after study showing homosexuals were usually victims of molestation or severe drug use, can't find much now outside of 'they were born that way' now
I also use to remember being able to find accurate crime statistics for black communities. So obvious it was in the music they produced. Hard to find statistics that don't get blamed on racism or another thing.

You're not crazy; the general consensus just changed and it's hard to come up with old studies, because people get shamed for publicizing stuff if there's a general consensus that it's wrong. It's possible to publish new stuff that challenges the general consensus, but they'll scrutinize it much more closely because it's presumed to be wrong, so you've just got to really make sure to do a flawless job or you'll get reamed. This help protect against false propaganda or whatever, but if something incorrect gets accepted, it's hard to correct, but the presumption that if it really is wrong, it'll eventually be corrected even if it's difficult. What complicates it more is that funding is harder to get funding from traditional organizations for stuff that completely contradicts the general consensus because they figure it's a waste of money' that you're dumb for wanting to pursue it, and that you're probably just trying to push your preconceived notions. But if churches are in favor of the study they may fund you, but they may not let you publish your results if it doesn't agree with their preconceived notions.
