I am really tired of the drama. Getting banned after 1 comment or not even having entered a sub is bull shit. All it does is create hate and dissent.
We do have a problem with spam, trolls, assholes and shot posters. I do fall into the asshole and shit poster category so I ain’t no saint on voat.
My reputation and affiliation with one sub also predefines who I am apparently. Fine what ever — fuck people. Sub in question is SBBH (I saved you a click) :)
So, what do?
We need to change how bans are programmed.
I suggest a 3 strikes system which can only be implemented by having posted or commented in a sub. This means no blanket bans.
I haven’t figured out how to implement a system to differentiate between comments and posts so let’s lump them together for now.
Basically the system works by issuing 3 warnings. All warnings are defined by Voat — drop down selection.
Each warning issue a notification that you have gotten a yellow card. The 3rd is a charm and you get the red card banned.
So, we might have a situation that a user is just hated and the sub owners don’t want them there. In cases like this we could have an arbitration system that the banned user could escalate for a community poll. All 3 posts or comments get shown and a 30 day poll decides if the ban gets zeroed out or not.
Let’s face it, if you are shot posting or got banned do you really want to wait 30 days to start all over again? If you do, fuck why not, let them rinse and repeat until the community just polls them to perma-ban.
Speak up! Let’s hear your ideas and solutions!
Agree or disagree ?
Note: keep the childish name calling out of this topic. If you ping somebody do it for the reason to get their opinion and not to piss them off.

Agree with this in particular:
That is how to stand up for truth and no censorship.

Censorship is a tough one.
People can still say whatever the fuck the want by posting somewhere else.
This goes for truth too.
I am just trying to figure out how to stop this retarded ban game and drama.
