Hi there,
I feel that Reddit's near is ending. A lot of people across many subs are talking, how it went to shit, since the shills are corporate marketing guys took so much over, that you feel the vibe on the frontpage.
Problem is, why do people not actually consider voat as a good alternative? I hear people still saying: "Well once a good Reddit clone comes along, Reddit is dead."
So the question arises, why do a lot of people not accept voat as a Reddit clone. And I think it is the packaging.
What do you guys think about changing voats design, to become more similar to Reddits? Thus it would be perceived more as an alternative and could grow faster, than the shithole that reddit is?
I understand that many of you want to keep it's identity, but I would argue, that we have a choice between what "we" want, and what we "want". And I believe we want an alternative to Reddit, instead of voat?
What do you think? (Would like to have an admin opinion on this)

I think night mode should be default. Most people seem to dislike the white theme here but like the dark theme once aware f it. Overall though I think Voat looks way better aesthetically than Reddit and don't think thats the issue at all.

I'm willing to hear any ideas out but I feel the opposite of you... I think Voat is too much like Reddit already.
So tell me why I'm wrong.

Not sure what you mean. Reddit is just a name. Shouldn't the idea, the platform, always be the same? A link-sharing site managed by user votes?
So what if it gets the reddit CSS? It's not Intellectual Property!

Wouldn't Voat then become exactly what everyone hates on Reddit, if we manipulate it to somehow resemble it? As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather have people come here for what we are, than for Reddit users to jump on board to get away from ... the very things they'd bring with them.

I would argue, that people hate just the censorship on Reddit. Nothing more, nothing less. So we just have to keep censorship away.
But all I am talking about is CSS, I am not talking functionality here.
