sure. there are plenty of paid users here that try to shift the conversation on occasion. reddit et all are clearly concerned about voat's general standard of critical thinking. the best thing about the place is how people can disagree wildly and still interact and agree in other areas because fuck it who cares it's the internet. the people in charge have played it right and the future depends on people adding good stuff and voting down trash, openly mocking shills, openly sharing unpopular opinions. keep avoiding the tendencies and culture of the rest of the internet.
the phrase "TIL" is a reddit neologism that promotes banality and is very, very stale. the best approach is to create something new, like /v/haveyouheard or whatever you want and grow the idea fresh.
consider this: by considering what is or isn't reddit at all, we are basing what we are off of them, whether congruently or incongruously. shit is that the word? wow what a word.
so i consider to not give a fuck what is or isn't eddit (i was never a redditor, so that helps) when considering what to create.
i won't limit myself because someone's a cunt (or there are a shit ton of cunts).
technically done enough by enough people in a group, and one could consider them participating in a reddit-counter-culture.
i just do me lol.
with a supposed 55k subscribers, i think it might be worth salvaging.. and also, people keep posting there everyday. someone if not system should be modding it. you know, for janitorial purposes at the very very least.

so it's alive kicking and ready for more, then? as long as we can 'keep doing all that good stuff you just mentioned.'
cool. why this die then? that seems counterproductive to what you just said. til's a viable place to "add good stuff," why let it die?
