CARAVAN UPDATE: After speaking with Paul Nehlen today we have decided to not try to muster a militia presence at the Texas border. We are not backing down or giving up, but after this encouraging tweet from Governor Greg Abbott of Texas, we felt it best to let the National Guard handle this. If the governor does not follow through with this, and the illegal immigrant caravan is allowed into the country, we will move to phase two. Which will be to organize a rally at the Texas State Capitol in Austin so large that it makes Charlottesville look like an old ladies knitting circle. There may be an impedance mismatch here. Perhaps the OP believes that anybody above a certain preparedness level is already in the national guard and similar organizations, so that an official response by the governor means all those forces will already be marshaled.
For those with a certain faith in these institutions, this is a reasonable view. Assuming he isn't larping around with this, or trying to infiltrate, a stronger argument against this "phase two" thing would simply be to note how poorly the government has protected us so far. But these beliefs run too deeply, I fear.
