No shit. Tons of internet companies run at a loss, and have questionable funding sources. You think the stupid banner ads on some websites make enough in sales to pay for hosting? They don't.
And the new-age apps that are repeats of craigslist sections, but with minimal vetting (uber, date sites, airbnb, etc) are loss leaders.
They also need to realize their twitter platform is garbage. I couldn't even sign up, and they asked to call me (robo-call). I did it, and it didn't even work. Plus, they are trying to make Twitter a walled garden. You can't even click on certain items.
