ROME—The Vatican felt obliged this week to reaffirm that Pope Francis believes in a central tenet of Catholicism, that there is a hell.

That odd declaration came after the newspaper La Repubblica published a front-page article Thursday by an atheist, left-wing and anticlerical giant of Italian journalism, who reported that during a recent meeting the Pope had said hell did not exist.

Bad souls are “not punished,” the journalist, Eugenio Scalfari, 93, reported the Pope as saying. “A hell doesn’t exist.”

I have to ask, is the Pope losing it? What is this about? Seriously this reminds me of the BO "the cling to their guns" statement. Bazaar. And he was among leftists. So, he is telling it like he really believes it. Where does he think he is going? To Heaven? Really.

Included in one of the nets is Paglia, the then-diocesan bishop. He is depicted wearing his skull cap and clutching another semi-nude man who is tenderly embracing him.

Cinalli told La Repubblica that the naked people in the nets were meant to be “erotic,” although Paglia drew the line when Cinalli proposed to show people actually copulating.

Mullarkey said that Paglia and his mural reveal a much deeper problem happening within the Church under Francis’ watch.

“Ultimately, the core of the issue here is not about a mural at all. Not substantially. Nor is it even about Archbishop Paglia. It is about a degraded Vatican culture which props up a man like Paglia, awarding him authority when he should be handed sackcloth and ashes and packed off to a hermitage.”

Thank You for your report, although it is not good news. This is exactly what I have been expecting of him, he has been put in place to do just that, inserting evilness into the church, and to change it's teachings. people will only drift further away and faster. The rest will have their lives and morals changed and when the old Catholics die (which is what they can't wait for) no one will remember how the church was decades ago. This is disgusting news.

There is something much darker in that message. It is way too early for me this morning, but the part about him saying that a new species will form is a message. This may be a precursor to the Scare and Fear they are about to bring forth. The alien holograms or whatever they have in store for us. For those that are asleep enough to believe.

They are not punished, those who repent obtain the forgiveness of God and enter the rank of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls.

Went to Stations of the Cross on Good Friday for the first time in many years. Said the Rosary first. Then looked at the brochure of the responses: first five stations of the Cross which pre 1962 mentioned Mary Mother of God now omit her entirely.I walked out of the church disgusted.

As a female and a mother, I feel that the Church now monopolized by gay priests has turned it's back on Mary and the message of Fatima.

True Catholics will have to emulate Father Perozich of San Diego who retired to a "community of one":
