According to the CNN briefing tape on 9/15/2020 (about 46m in)Project Veritas, the story about Trump calling his daughter fat was run as revenge for Trump posting about Biden being a pedophile on Twitter. So not only did they refuse to cover sexual allegations about Biden and his son, they actively attacked people who talked online about the scandals (POTUS, Q, QAnon, Pizzagate).
