So I did some digging and the original source of this tale is our old fake news nemesis NeonNettle. A French hoax-busting site researched this and interviewed Les Echos, who pointed out the original story December 12, 2017 involved a screengrab of a December 20 Les Echos page, which was edited to feature the Culkin "interview". They forgot to change the article date, though, and hence their story appeared a week prior to the alleged Les Echos piece it was written about. Doh!

Once NeonNettle was called out for this fake news, they scrubbed the page. The hoaxbuster article does include a screencap of the NeonNettle page. No one apparently archived it.
@darkknight111 @millennial_vulcan I think we're going to have to start giving this the Possible Disinfo flair. Thoughts?

IDK.
Something is very off in all this.
We know he got threats for Pedowood related things in December 2017.
Last weeks blind item talks about how Heather did in fact get dug up around 1991.
Too many things align with the NN article.
Unless the truth is more complicated.

Yes, this is indeed a possibility. We know they like to "flood fake" to make very similar real incidents look fake.
Just like the Comet "Haitian special" menu posted two weeks after Trebillion reported CP on their Berlin server to the DC police.

The irony that no one would even know about the red shoe story if not for that NN fake story is notable.
In a way, it may have been good to stick to my guns regarding that story for so long given “The Tomb” just verified the “dig up her grave -> skin her body theory”.
The only thing the debunking of the NN story actually changes are the identities of the culprits (along with The Tomb, this should be added in OP as a caveat that the crime actually happened).

Kinda makes you wonder who runs NeonNettle. Like...are we dealing with dueling spook factions?
You never know with this stuff.
