It’s a relatively neutral comment you might make if trying not to become embroiled in an ongoing legal matter. I’m hoping that’s what it is. The accusations against her are obviously foul though, so it sounds bad and the MSM/left social media are going to have a field day with it.
The best intentioned interpretation of it is it is a dumb deflection to try to stay out of it. Still he could have literally just said "I can't talk about an ongoing legal case" or "I'm not knowledgable on the subject." He chose to say "I wish her well."
