Took a quick look and thought I would save you all some time on digging through Joseph Zaccardi the poet.
He is not the same person as Joseph Zaccardi the children's book author, that was discovered dead along with his family.
The poet is much older, compare the pictures, plus he was a Vietnam vet, the other guy was 43 years old. The Vietnam war was over by the time he was born....

Thank you. You've demonstrated how important it is to not assume that what an OP says in an title is based on the links given (I assumed he was the author based on title). And that non related Children's book author with same name as the deceased would have had PG FALSE accusations (he wrote a poem about cannibalism of a stillborn!) spreading across the net if this board doesn't get it right. Based on that, this post should be removed imho, ideally by OP @EnterTheUnKnown or by a mod @Vindicator PG gets enough ridicule when it doesn't deserve it, why provide posts that would deserve ridicule by demonstrating that our standards of proof are a fail, if we do nothing about it.
Thanks for the ping, K9. I will remove it after the flair has run out. The initial claim has been debunked. But I'm curious to see if anyone comes up with sketchy content from the guy's children's books. I didn't see that addressed.
I did look at the books (samples of front covers/backcovers). Nothing from what I saw to warrant the topic belonging on PG, (granted I haven't read the books. There were a couple sentences (young kids books). He did the illustrations. Given that we know about the murder suicide, I did get the sense about him as an author that (while speculative) may play into whatever possible motives that led to what happened: 1. His few books didn't seem to that successful or in demand. 2) Some things about the books seemed awkward (made me think he might be a bit 'off' in some way) example: a story about a mixed up elephant, his body parts are in the wrong place. How to fix it? "shake him?". Something like that. 3). The number of books compared to the number of years he's been doing it seemed slim (but maybe they're fully illustrated so that may take longer), and 5) There were little to no book reviews. On was rated one star. One had no stars, and a few had two reviews had high ratings. (could have been someone they knew put those in there).
The pictures of him I've seen he seems immature. Maybe he's on the spectrum as they say. If they were under financial stress or if the marriage was having issues and he was not quite right, then murder suicide may be a result of a mind (his) that believes everything is going to be taken from him anyway.
