We are looking forward to crowning Las Vegas' best teen drag king or queen as part of our second annual Family Pride Day! Put together your best ensemble and strut your stuff for our celebrity judges for a chance to win tickets to Christina Aguilera!

Space in the competition is limited; registration is required by Saturday, September 21st. Please call or email Anna at 702.507.6019 or [email protected] to register.

Registrants must have parents permission to participate. Each performer will be asked to do a lip sync performance between 3-5 minutes in length. Please have song selection ready when you sign up.

Performance free and open to the public.

WHY CARLA ROSSI?

My performance work confronts white supremacy, complacency, and the confusion of "mixed" identities - of living in-between, particularly sexually and racially. I'm interested in the edge - that line between satire and sincerity, between critique and reification - as a site where transgression and transformation occur. That's why I'm drawn to drag as artwork. Drag often reinforces heterosexist projections of what makes a "woman," but - as theorist Judith Butler argues - it can also expose the cracks in binary sexism by blurring (or queering) gender. Queer drag exposes gender as a performed historical construction - a set of appropriated cues, images, or gestures that culturally signify masculine and feminine - rather than as a biological reality.

The character I play, Carla Rossi, started as an art project in 2010 and has since turned into a full-fledged persona, body of work, and occupation. I prefer the term "drag clown" over "drag queen" because I'm not trying to emulate women. I'm more interested in Coyote-style trickery similar to the clown’s objective - a clown says one thing while doing the opposite. In that same way I use Carla as a tool for critique. Sad thing really is, these freaks have the law 100% on their side. I've said it before, my daughters Mum who I don't live with, her brother and her sister in law have basically groomed their son since 7 to be gay. He was totally normal, into wrestling, transformers and so on, then they started taking his to Pride parades, getting his nails coloured, every fucking time there's a Pride parade they wheel him out there and basically they've made him a target. He's 10, has FB profile with him on superimposed over a sign 'the only gay in the village'. It turns my stomach. 20 odd years ago they're be questioned for child abuse. Now? I'll be the one question by the cops for speaking out. We're fucking powerless in the UK. I've told my daughter's Mum, if they dare drag her to these perversion events there'll be hell to pay.

RuPaul would be proud of our local teens as they compete for the crown during the Library District’s first Teen Drag Competition. Located in the Clark County Library Theater, the competition welcomes 12 contestants to strut their finest drag stuff on the runway for a chance to be named “Fiercest of Them All.”

First, second, and third place will be awarded beautiful makeup gift baskets. The first-place winner will also receive tickets to see Trixie Mattel on June 16 at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. All ages are welcome, however, those ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with valid photo I.D.

I could be wrong, but I believe the doxx rules apply to Voat users only. Public employees are over 50% of the problem. They have chosen money over morality. They get paid higher than industry standards, they need to be held to higher standards, as well.

I hope people spread those phone numbers far and wide.

That is my understanding, but I'm not 100% clear on what is and isn't doxxing. The User Agreement is vague and different goats have different interpretations of it. When one of our users created a pedo doxing subverse and posted names and addresses of subscribers to a CP site they hacked, Putt deleted all of the dox submissions but did not ban the user. In fact, didn't say a word about it, even when repeatedly asked for clarification and an explanation. That was a couple years ago, though. In that case, the people being doxed made accounts and complained. They also claimed the user was trying extort money from them (unsubstantiated, and the claim didn't make a whole lot of sense, since the info had already been posted publicly before they made the claim and thus had no blackmail value).

Warning, people. That Instagram link had photos of actual child sexual abuse. The children are clothed but are standing next to nude men in drag, some of them wearing nothing more than glued on sequins on their genitalia and nothing more-nothing left to the imagination. One little prepubescent boy was kissing a grown man in drag on the lips. I'm utterly....horrified. No words that this is shamelessly being promoted. I have no words. I wish I could unsee this.
