Dec. 13, 2006 – The Miss Virgin Islands Executive Committee will hold its campaign to recruit contestants for the 2007 Miss Virgin Islands Pageant on Saturday, May 19, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts.
The winner of the Miss V.I. pageant will represent the U.S.V.I. in the 2008 Miss America Pageant and compete for the coveted Miss America crown. Along with the 2007 title she will also receive the J. Epstein Foundation Scholarship; one-year full tuition, room and board at the UVI; a scholarship and more.
Interested young ladies between the ages of 17 and 24 with aspirations for higher education are invited to register by contacting the Miss U.S.V.I. public relations team at 777-8883 or via fax 777-5486 or via e-mail [email protected]. The application deadline is March 17.
July 19, 2007 – The Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Organization will hold its campaign to recruit contestants for the 2008 title of Miss Virgin Islands at the Reichhold Center for the Arts. The winner will represent the United States Virgin Islands in the 2009 Miss America Pageant. Along with the 2008 Miss Virgin Islands title she will also receive:
· $10,000 J. Epstein VI Foundation Scholarship Award
· $78,000 tuition to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic
· $11,500 one year tuition, room and board scholarship from UVI
· $1,500 scholarship to attend Dale Carnegie Training
· Official state trophy
The 1st Runner Up will receive:
· $5000 Scholarship
· Official state trophy
In addition, two non-finalists will each be awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Organization.
Other prizes include:
· Marjorie Rawls Roberts PC $1,000 Interview Competition Award
· Margate Management LP $1,000 Talent Competition Award
· Dick and Alicia Stephenson $1,000 Physical Fitness Competition Award
· Clearwater Consulting Concepts LLLP $1,000
· Evening Gown Competition Award
· Miss America $1,000 State Community Service Award
