the problem with shadow governments, is that you have to control everything. the moment you make a minor mistake, is the moment an upstart comes in and wrecks everything to gain power.
the other possibility, is that this woman broke the biggest rule of all: she got famous. so they are going to remove her for becoming a liability. A family has to protect itself, and sometimes that means removing a bad child. This may be abhorrent to us, but we are NOT in that culture now are we?
They do it all the time. People dont understand that among the elite families eugenics and the family wellbeing are massively important. They think these people live their lives around the same basic principles that we do. They really dont understand how different their world is from ours.
