Their data encryption were so advanced that the police have spent years accessing parts of the enormous amount of data.
"In the home, the police found what is now considered the largest history of Norwegian history of abuse material.
It consists of millions of pictures and videos of abuse of young boys.
The offense material lies on heavily encrypted data storage devices that the police are unable to open.
For several years, the police have tried to unlock the encrypted giant fuss. But after five years, the police have still not managed to open hundreds of terabytes on the accused hard drive. The police say they have only managed to analyze 20 percent of the extensive seizure.
The amount of data seized is so great that the police describe it as a library of all the material of abuse found on the dark web.
- The machines are so big and there are so many materials on them that many of our systems crashed. We have had to invest several million in equipment to be able to review the material on these units"

Forgive me for my ignorance, but does it really take a few million in hardware to analyze a few hundred terabytes of data? I'm not implying it isn't true or anything like that, but this part interested me. Beyond that though, hopefully they can crack it.

A few million NOK. Not USD.

Ok so around $350,000 then.... that's a lot more reasonable. Thanks for clarifying.

No worries.
