In the 2.5 years I've been modding, I have never seen written child porn posted here. As a result, we do not have specific rules governing how to handle it. @shewhomustbeobeyed and @think- have requested we modify the Dangerous Research policy to require submitters of either Comments or Submissions containing written CP to not copypaste or quote the noxious content in the post (even covered by a spoiler), but instead link to it with a warning so users have to go out of their way to view it, not just hover their cursor over it.
Please comment and vote on the updated policy enumerated below (see last bullet).
First rule of v/pizzagate: We will ban your butt pronto* if you directly link to illegal pornographic images of kids
However, that doesn't mean you can't share research about pedo pornographers and organize campaigns to raise public outcry and force service providers to take down sites. Here's how to do so without endangering Voat or fellow voaters:
- NEVER use the Link button to submit a dangerous url; always make a Discuss post
- Break any link that leads to CP by adding spaces into the url so that users must copy and paste it into their browser
- Precede dangerous urls or those that lead to them with a clear warning in bolded ALL CAPS of what lies beyond and that researchers proceed at their own risk and take proper security precautions.
- If possible, try to make sure researchers have to click through at least two layers down before encountering actual images
- Flair your post NSFW
- Verbally describe the content you have found in enough detail to let other researchers decide how to proceed
- If relaying written pornographic material about children, please do not copypaste or quote the noxious content. Instead, provide a broken hyperlink to an archive of it, just as you would with images."
As added insurance, mods may flair a post "Potential Security Risk".
Outting these slime and the human turds who protect and fund them is a vital part of our mission, and Voat's anti-censorship commitment makes this one of the few forums where documenting that effort is possible. Let's help each other use that power and freedom responsibly.
If you discover someone has linked to illegal content in a submission...
- Use the "Report" button to report the illegal content
- Leave a comment in the thread alerting other users to what you saw (describe verbally), and ping mods in the comment
- Downvoat the submission
- Run a full malware scan
- Report to hosting site and law enforcement
