It's hard to find the words, to say how bad I feel...
I believe this may result from the ubiquitous availability of the internet, and the huge range of influences, some of which are absolutely dreadful... in my youth we only had newspapers and a couple of TV channels, and horror movies could not be seen until you were much older, and presumably wiser...
I know I think there are various factors in there. People don't talk enough about the effects of pornography on society. I mean some of the stuff out there I only dread to think. Also the graphic violence people are indulging themselves with. There's no way this doesn't create a disconnect in people and reduce their fellow feeling.
Possibly this boy watched porn and even saw a snuff film? They are out there and able to be gotten if you know how. This stuff is horrid, what this boy has done I hope they do not start saying he is almost an adult. He is still a boy until 18 and some are not even ready then. We expect Our Children to take on our responsibilities and understanding of what evil is out there when they just are not ready to process it all. But this, this is more than just a product of lite porn. He was horribly abused also, imo. Children are not born with such sick ideas. @UK_Bloke_Awoke@Pablolove
Agreed. When I was a child, UK voting age was 21, and lowered in 1969 to 18, and marriage without parental consent also reduced to 18....
As I get older I see how people develop at different speeds, and I can see myself at 21, and I'm horrified at how little I understood how the world worked...
I take your point about some children not being ready. I think they learn by example, and from both good and bad. Learning is stronger when the emotional content is high, as it would be in abuse situations. Most probably this child did not learn that behaviour just from watching stuff, so I imagine there must have been some sort of trigger..
Agree with your statement. I also believe that the trigger you speak of was sexual abuse. This was a horrible crime. This was not some kind of pass he made or invitation. This was brutal. For a child to murder another Child there is something seriously wrong in his life and background. Certainly with his relationship with his parents. That's where it all starts. From Day 1.
