At one point there seems to be a bar on the right side of the screen. Also looks like maybe picnic tables in the middle. Could this be the Children’s birthday party room? The one that is beyond the curtains? Does anyone else see this?
Yes, it's the back room, used for events now and then. I find this bit odd because in another news report it said that the fire spread to nearby windows, but there aren't any windows at the back. Copying you in @doofface99 to answer your question about the room.
"Firefighters responded to a small fire at the restaurant about 9:20 p.m. that night, D.C. Fire and EMS said.
One of the videos of the suspect shows him trying to knock down or destroy a camera while a fire burns in the background. Employees put out the fire that spread to some curtains and window coverings inside the restaurant, the fire department said. There was a minimal amount of damage, investigators said.
No one was injured in the fire."

WHERE ARE THE WINDOW COVERINGS AND CURTAINS LOCATED?
WHERE IS THE SMOKE?
In this video, the order of the guy entering from the outside is switched.
There are curtains at the back of Comet, big Black ones like the two that separate the stage room/ping pong room from the events room where this was. An outside view of Comet shows that there is one small boarded up window (from the inside) so it must have been this. I'd always assumed that the curtains that cover the back wall were just an easy way to cover up a shitty back wall.
