Check out this family coat of arms of the House of Visconti, Bellinzona: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellinzona#/media/File:Coat_of_arms_of_the_House_of_Visconti_(1395).svg

Serpent

Consumption of humans

Red

That's about as obvious as it could get while still pursuing subtlety...

And their motto:

Vipereos mores non violabo (Latin for "I will not violate the customs of the serpent")

Yeah I saw that.

It's crazy how upfront they tend to be about it.

Truly hiding in plain sight.

That tends to be the theme. Remember, they have to tell us what they're doing. Most like us frame it as them shoving it in our face to disgrace us, but for them it's more of a formality in that it has to be done for them to conduct business. Otherwise, they're unallowed.

Their warped cult is quite the enigma.

I've heard this before, but I don't understand why they have to tell us. Do you have any sources that go into this idea in more detail?

I think it relates to 'revelation of the method', there's also a legend that you have to invite vampires into your place.

Revelation of the Method concerns mind control in the last stages and at a high level. When you tell someone what you are doing to them - murder, mayhem, kidnap, rape, you name it - and they do nothing to stop you or protect themselves, you have created a doubly enslaved subject.

Makes a good bit of sense.
