The adrenochrome hypothesis of schizophrenia has been resurrected in recent years and if nothing else does tend to affirm that certain genetic polymorphisms could make some individuals concentrate more adrenochrome than others. Schizophrenia runs in families which suggests these traits are heritable. A breeding program to concentrate these traits could be of special interest to torturers and traffickers.
