Yeah, I couldn't post here for a few days. The trick I found was to go to /v/All, sort by New, then scroll until you find something that has some upvotes that you also find interesting enough to make an honest comment on. Then I just make that comment, and because it's on a relatively new post it's more likely to be seen and upvoted quickly.
