Some odd/suspicious details:
"Mother" wearing Elsa t-shirt (several sizes too small) - signal to potential customers?
"Mother" bears no physical resemblance to children
"Mother's" rough grip of child's wrist in both photos - distinctly unmaternal (although what kind of mother drags her young children 2000 miles across Central America)
Child aged at least 4 or 5 wearing diapers
Child's fingers stuck in wiffle ball - some form of punishment?
"Mother" wearing orange wristband (but not children)

@Mad_as_hell, do you have the source link for these photos? I think you right -- these are highly suspicious.

Why do you view these as suspicious?
You just invented some signal based on a poor woman wearing clothing that doesn't fit well? Seriously? There have been news reports of migrants getting donations while in Tijuana. They have limited how many people can apply for asylum per day, so migrants are staying up to a month in camps in Tijuana. It's probably a donated shirt. That's a much more likely scenario than a tight shirt is a signal.
This is based on several assumptions and you have no idea who the father of the children is.
Unmaternal? This is rich. A mother getting her kids out of range of tear gas? And you're criticizing the grip she's using. Are you kidding? Kids who don't know what tear gas is? You don't think a maternal instinct is grab your kids and get them out of there? This seems like a primal maternal instinct.
As a little kid I once almost stepped in front an oncoming car, my grandmother grabbed me by my hair and yanked me back. This item might be the most ridiculous.
probably a desperate one.
This is weird. But as you noted the child has been on the move and is in foreign country drinking local water. Diarrhea seems to be a possibility.
OMG. Come on. Have you ever played with a whiffle ball? that's pretty common. I have no clue why you think the child's finger's are "stuck." I have no clue why you think that would be punishment. A more likely explanation, is this toy is one of the kid's very few possessions and he is holding it that way because he doesn't want to lose it.
Um, And?

What I view as suspicious is the completely logic-defying idea that the United States should have wide open borders that become a de facto "attractive nuisance" for traffickers and those they prey upon. Anyone with common sense knows this approach to human rights is doomed to failure.
I can't take my kid camping in Canada without a passport and birth certificate. That is GOOD. What these pictures depict is evil, on multiple levels, whether that woman is the mother or a trafficker.
Stop attempting to make researchers here the bad guys for asking questions about highly questionable shit while pretending a porous border is good policy because "desperate poor people".

I'm sorry, but I can no longer see the goalposts you've moved them so far away.
You've made up your mind you're looking at evil? No matter what you see? What is evil about this mother?
