Damn it. Now I have to side-eye JRR Tolkien too?

Hobbits look like children, and are often mistaken for kids in the books.... They're constantly being recruited by Gandalf, an old-ass wizard.

The ring keeps them from aging.

Anybody think Tolkien Mythology might have been a proto-MK-Ultra style normalizing of close relationships between unrelated young and old?

I think this is quite a stretch, @NOMOCHOMO. This is about his son, not Tolkien himself.

The apple doesn't fall from the tree. Abuse is often generational.

I'm not saying he is guilty, but if the son is a pedophile, the father should also be scrutinized.

There is that. But on the other hand, the lord of the rings is a parable critique of the abuse of power. And about the virtue of those who resist it's temptation.

I can't argue that.
