Does this mean they are gearing up to do a RICO investigation?

Also, what grants does the Catholic church receive from the feds? Hadn't heard that was a thing.

Not officially, but this could be a first step in that direction, especially when other states' grand jury results become available.

The church receives grants and contracts from the feds. Here's the lastest available financial report (PDF) from Catholic Charities USA and Affiliates: (Ctrl+F "federal" will take you to the pertinent parts) https://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Catholic-Charities-USA-Consolidated-AFS-J1615-FINAL-S-v1_0.pdf

Oh, yes. USCCB receives plenty. That’s why they support illegal immigration. Many faithful Catholics can’t stand the USCCB and their support of bleeding heart fake Catholic politicians who are pro illegals.
They are USING the poor.

Wow. Didn't know that about the grants. That disgusts me. Explains a lot.

Oh yes. It’s been terrible. USCCB should be disbanded. They’re meeting in November in Baltimore and believe me, plenty of faithful Catholics will be there in protest. Their impotence on calling out their brother pedophile priests is disgusting.
Laity are not standing for it anymore.

Yes! Quote from the article “Legal experts said that if federal prosecutors can show that church leaders systematically covered up for child-molesting priests in the past five years, dioceses could be charged under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, or RICO, the federal law originally passed to bring down the Mafia.

Well, 'mafia' is certainly an andequate term here too.
