Are you in FL? Yes, Gulf Shores has a beautiful beach. It's sad how touristy & overdeveloped it's become. I'd rather drive a little further east into FL, where there's areas that aren't so congested.
Nope. Not in Florida. I agree its sad what has happened to Gulf Shores. When I first started going there it was almost, well, not desolate, but compared to what it is today, it seemed desolate. I was fishing at the seawall one night. I fell over the seawall in high waves. I was getting bashed against the seawall like a jack hammer. I decided to swim to Perdido bridge because that was my only hope not to drown. Some dudes looked over the seawall and said "oh my gawd, there is a dude in the water!!!" I took my blue jeans off and slung one leg up to the top of the sea wall and they grabbed it. They hauled me up the seawall and over it with my blue jeans. I damn near drowned down there one night.
Wow! Glad you made it, need your expertise here. Florida is in the news every other day with bazaar stories of crazy accidents with alligators, sharks, jelly fish, you name it. Bet you are more careful near sea walls now.

When I was in medical sales we went through Foley a lot headed to conventions at Gulf Shores and Destin. I love that area. Its just a bit south of me.
