I'm guessing Alice and Mad Hatter are code words just like Pizza and Hotdog etc?. So the person can be cryptic and the other person knows what it is in reference to from the beginning like Madame"" for a female Pimp. it might be easier to find some underlying contextual structure with more examples placed side by side.
