LOL. Scroll down to his June 9 article. It's starting to sound more like an encounter group (or Scientology-style honeypot) than a sex club.

https://www.snctm.com/author/damon/

"I’m going to change the rules of the game now, for your experience moving forward. The next five years, ladies and gentlemen, I’m in this for you. It’s my mission to deliver you from unsatisfying relationships, crumbling marriages, the need to lie, cheat and hide all the secrets you keep, for fear of what being truly authentic means. Snctm is the only place I have ever known where these revelatory conversations about sex take place without judgment, where relationships reignite, and where the truth of every one of us comes out into the light, for better or worse. Snctm is that rarified place where we all may find freedom. Once this path is taken, there really is no turning back. It’s not easy and we must be brave."

...

"I want the experience to be lifechanging for every person in the room. All of us, every member, every guest, must be prepared to let down any veils of shame or fear so we can all get real."

That's so creepy. If you looked up the term 'cult speak' in the dictionary, that's exactly how the example would sound.

So, he's saying they can rest assured that they don't have to keep secrets anymore because they belong to a secret club.

Wow. That's some circular logic he's pushing...

Wow.

To me it sounds like he's telling them to reveal everything about their dirty little secrets--to be captured by hidden cameras.

"It's not easy and we must be brave." LOL

You may be right! Crazy to think why people would knowingly allow themselves to be blackmailed, and what has happened to them or what they desire that is the motivating factor that makes them tell themselves this is OK and exactly where they want to be in life. Weak willed?

Factfinder2 ago

Why? They want kinky sex.

I'm sure many of the club members aren't happy about this new angle--it reads like a requirement now to divulge secrets before you can get sex.

But people who crave sex, power, status, money seem to have blinders on. They want to believe what they're doing is safe. They're not even thinking about blackmail. So maybe/probably at Snctm they'll take the bait despite Lawner's new "rules," which are patently ludicrous for a kinky sex club. Let's face it--they're not there for kumbaya and personal growth.

I just wonder whether children are in the mix at Snctm, remaining to be uncovered.

I don't doubt that's a huge factor in why this grips them, but the absolute hold is what boggles the mind. They've really got to be pushing the envelope though (cough pedophilia) to put one's reputation at stake by consenting to measures where you're 100% compromised and set up to lose everything including your mental and physical well being. I think it's relatively easy these days to find kinky sex partners given all the swinger clubs and S&M dungeons that are out in the open now.

It is mind-boggling, but it's been happening on a regular basis for decades or centuries, especially in places like Washington DC. I think having narcissistic personalities makes people believe they're special and too smart to ever be caught.

Absolute given with the sociopath angle. Their desire for power and pleasure is insatiable, and the fact that they can't experience guilt enables them to do horrible things and still sleep soundly at night all the while, like you said, feeling invincible.
