I wonder if Al Pacino was referring to this drug addled vermin in the film Heat when he said, "Hi honey, guess what? I walked into this house today where this junkie asshole just fried his baby in a microwave because it was crying too loud...". I seem to remember this scenario occurring in the 1st series of True Detective as well.
