Sex trafficking and human trafficking is flourishing in South Carolina. Charleston is the number two place in the state that sees the most trafficking.

(2012) Police Warned Citadel in 2001

Young campers jumping into bed with counselors. Counselors talking sex around kids. Booze and tobacco in the barracks. A counselor taking boys on off-campus jaunts without parental consent.

These were the practices Charleston police warned The Citadel about in August 2001 after a detective spent time at the military college investigating a complaint of a camper being molested. The probe didn't yield an arrest, but police were concerned by the questionable goings-on at the camp for young boys.

"These are the most serious findings that were brought to my attention during my investigation," then-Sgt. Dale Middleton wrote to The Citadel's commandant. "I am sure these activities will be addressed and corrected in the future."

The school's reaction?

"I got no response from the school," Middleton said last week.

….one year after Middleton's letter, senior counselor Louis "Skip" ReVille reportedly hosted young boys in his dorm room on multiple occasions at night to watch porn and masturbate together….ReVille, who is now accused of molesting 22 boys across the region….

The 38-year-old former principal, teacher and coach was involved in at least 15 organizations, groups, clubs or schools where he gained access to his victims. This included running the summer sports camp at The Citadel and serving as principal at Coastal Christian Prep in Mt. Pleasant.

The man at the heart of a Penn State-style sex abuse scandal at the Citadel is now in prison in Puerto Rico awaiting sentencing for his role in the kidnapping, robbery and murder of a cocaine courier by a SWAT team of fake federal law enforcement agents.

Former Marine Capt. Michael Arpaio, now 37, served 15 months in prison for molesting boys at the South Carolina military college's summer camp between 1995 and 2001. According to lawsuits filed against Arpaio, while a counselor he molested boys, gave them drugs and alcohol and made them watch while he had sex with a woman.

The camp closed in 2006 after the Citadel paid $3.8 million to five campers who said Arpaio had abused them.

After serving his time, Arpaio….moved to the U.S. possession of Puerto Rico and started using the name Michael Holland. He became part owner of a restaurant in the tourist district of Old San Juan.

Only 15 months?? That's outrageous! Fortunately, Arpaio received a sentence of 12 years for conspiring with 11 men in Puerto Rico, including law enforcement officers, to carjack a drug courier whom they strangled to death.
