It's not the BBC it's the Daily Mail. BBC would never run a story like this. Pretty much anything goes for Daily Mail though.

Hi @ronnyCPI, I am going to flair the post 'Unverified', since this is an interesting theory, but we don't know for sure whether it's valid or not. (Please note that OP of the Voat post you linked to stated that it was a 'Conspiracy Theory', so we didn't flair that post.)
