Some aren't going to want to face the consequences of their actions, others don't want to be put in a position to testify against a fellow elite, and other suicides probably aren't suicides.

You only acknowledge in the context of the government causing it. It's clear there are folks on this very board with mental health issues, such as increasing paranoia.
My wife just reminded me of the time we visited Europe and met one of her Swiss cousins. Very casually after dinner, while go through old family photos, they mentioned a fact she didn't know, that her grandfather attempted suicide and was hopitalized and then was under a nurses care for like a year so he wouldn't try it again. A fact that her parents had obviously never told her. She has anxiety issues and panic attacks herself and you can literally seen when the chemistry is not right.
She said to me this morning, mental illness is mental illness. It doesn't matter if you're rich and famous, when it hits you, it hits you. She also said when it hits someone famous all the stupid shit people say about it online is just infuriating. People on this board have often accused me of not caring about abuse. The majority of women I know have suffered sexual abuse to one degree or nothing and a few have suffered real trauma. I suspect if you don't know that about people in your life, they might not trust you enough to share it.

You wife making that remark is anecdotal evidence to her particular situation. It doesn't necessarily apply to anything other than that.
For you to diagnose or attempt to diagnose what happened to Anthony Bourdain based on it is ridiculous. You don't know anything about him, nor should you profess to be a scholar and mental health professional because clearly you're not.
All we know about Bourdain is that he traveled in the ''Usual Suspect'' circles. Did your wife do that? Did her grandfather? Because if he or she did then you might have a point, and that's what your remark is--
I used to wonder why so many child actors suffered from mental illness and turned to drugs or suicide. Well, as it turns out, they turned to drugs and suicide as a result of being raped and molested as children in Hollywood. I for one, am done turning a blind eye.
