Metro sex-trafficking sting rescues nearly 160 children, authorities say
NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - A sting on the sex-trafficking trade in metro Atlanta netted dozens of arrests and the rescue of dozens of children forced into sexual servitude, the FBI announced this week.
Operation Safe Summer was a collaborative effort between the FBI’s Atlanta field office and 38 law enforcement agencies in six metro counties, assistant Special Agent in Charge Matt Alcoke told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik.
“They are crimes of special concern to the FBI and to law enforcement generally,” Alcoke said. “Because the victims are so vulnerable as children and because the offenders could be from just about any walk of life, from a gang member all the way up to someone who is highly successful and wealthy.”
The sting ended with nearly 160 children rescued, including one as young as 3 years old, and nearly 150 arrests, convictions or sentences, officials said.
Alcoke said the operation was scheduled before the summer months as a way to put a dent in a trade that preys on children at a time when they have more freedom.

This article smells like it might be another fluff article to appease the masses because it is incredibly weak on names and details. It sort of follows a blueprint of the mountain of fake "trafficking" articles that poured out a few months ago. Mostly johns and prostitutes with one child trafficking case thrown in.
Maybe not, but it looks suspect.

I'm concerned about the lack of specifics on these child rescue busts, as well. I know that they often seal the records that involve minor victims to protect their identity, and that may be the explanation. But I would like to confirm that. Maybe someone could call the number on the press release this task force produced and find out? If that is typical, we ought to have a thread on it. I know the Epstein victims' cases were all sealed for that reason.

I hear ya. I am hoping this is on the up and up too. But knowing how rife Ga. is with trafficking, and yes, CNN right at hand, I don't know. We also know that LE has to be protecting many of those that are putting a spike in the numbers. And, they certainly have not helped with the R Kelly case either. Covering for Elton John who lives in Ga. we could go on and on. Let's say a prayer tonight for those children, just in case this IS real.
