"While there are certainly sinister groups out there, there are also innocent young people and hipsters just having fun with pedophile themes because that is one of the last taboos to beak down." What taboos are left besides incest, murder and cannibalism? .. What the fuck are you talking about? They are innocently breaking down tabos about pedophilia? You are in the wrong sub. Help yourself out the same way you came in.
No kidding. At best, a joke about this stuff is a faux pas. It shouldn’t be accepted or tolerated. I don’t care how cool or hip someone thinks they are, I ain’t havin’ it. People that accept it and make jokes are enablers. This is the time for them to rethink their support and choose the right side. The community that stood by Alefantis just gave us insight into the size of the sickness that we are up against.
DeathtoMasons: You didn't read down all the way to where I said that a Pedosubculture is dangerous. By innocent, I meant innocent of commiting pedophile crimes. How do we sort out the ones who are actually doing it from those who joke about it and can even make money from incorporating it into their music or art or whatever. Think about all those middle class DC parents who rallied around Alefantis when they had access to the same disgusting photos we did. Are they actually pedos? Do they not see anything wrong with this?
The 1960s Rock-n-Roll era certainly saw a breakdown of taboos regarding illicit drugs, premarital sex, children born out of wedlock, promiscuity, homosexuality and so forth. There aren't many more taboos left, as I said. What do we do about "normal" people either ignoring these symbols or worse yet embracing them as harmless and humorous? They might not cross the line but does it occur to them that they might be encouraging others to do so? Hence my story about the rapper.
I'm curious as to how you would solve the problem of a cultural shift in the absence of a wanton crime. Do we outlaw Tshirts like the one Caris James wore saying "Im a Pizza Slut" or something similar .
I'm sorry if my comment rubbed you the wrong way. And I'm also sorry you didn't understand what the fuck I was talking about. I was hoping I could trigger a discussion about this dilemma we are facing.
