Doug Hagmann went on Alex Jones the same day as the TruePundit story, also claiming NYPD sources and he let slip that he was getting his information from Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani, of course, was an official member of the campaign and couldn't be pushing this false stuff himself. Erik Prince who later was found to be secretly working as a Trump surrogate (and would be repaid by sister becoming head of the Department of Education) went on Steve Bannon's old radio show (Bannon having moved to the Trump campaign) and pushed this story as well.
Giuliani also promised a big October surprise and mentioned he was being fed information coming from active FBI agents. The DOJ's inspector general is now investigating if the NY Office of the FBI was leaking to the Giuliani and the Trump Campaign.
The NYPD seized the computer from Weiner during a search warrant and detectives discovered a trove of over 500,000 emails to and from Hillary Clinton, Abedin and other insiders during her tenure as secretary of state. The content of those emails sparked the FBI to reopen its defunct email investigation into Clinton on Friday.
That's a pretty plain and simple statement. Says it all, pretty much.
And one that is completely false. The NYPD DID NOT seize the computer from the Weiner. The FBI did. The NYPD did not turn over the laptop to the FBI because they didn't have it. The FBI did.
That's why there will be an investigation. To get to the truth once and for all. You are entitled to your opinion, but again no source. You just make up statements and we are suppose to believe them. NYPD said they saw the horrid videos. Considering who was at the head of the FBI at the time, I will believe the word of the NYPD.
I thought you were following the discussion elsewhere on the forum. The source for my claims is the warrant that was unsealed. It clearly shows that the FBI were ones who took possession of Weiner's laptop.
This is a federal warrant. It doesn't not apply to the NYPD. We don't need an investigation. We can read the warrant ourselves and confirm the facts. Below is not my opinion. These are the facts.

They should not have said anything at all when the did. The Department of Justice has a policy to avoid the appearance of influencing an election and a policy that politics should not play a role in their decisions.

Now that Comey's book is out we find we was thinking about politics he was thinking that Clinton would win and the FBI would get accused of playing politics. Also the fact that emails were on the laptop was not evidence of a crime. They had just looked through tens of thousands of emails and deterimined there was no crime.
You don't want the party in power to abuse the power of the prosecutor. Imagine a scenario where two weeks before election day, a US attorney gets up and says we are investigating Senator So and So for bribery. Senator So and So drops in the polls and ends up losing by 5 points. Then a month after election day, they say the investigation is closed Senator So and So never took any bribes.

ProPublica has a good article on the Comey affairs that cover who knew what and when with Weiner's laptop. Comey was told on Oct 3 that some State Department emails were on the laptop. But he didn't find out there were thousands until later. I think the number of emails that that applied was about 43,000 of Huma's emails.
Typed this up yesterday. And the President today show why they have a rule about avoiding politics in their decisions. The DOJ does not work for Trump. He cannot simply order up criminal investigations to his liking. It's an obvious abuse of power.

In the US attorney scandal under the Bush administration this happened Republican politicians wanted the US Attorney to indict a politician before the election and when he didn't they asked Karl Rove to fire him..
