I did a search for carnival workers charged with molestation and rape, and here's a fairly recent article. It's a very sad story, and it's interesting that the article mentions nothing about him being a carnival worker except in the title. He abducted the boy from a bowling alley, and at least the boy is still alive. I pray he's healing.

Check this out dude...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Lewis The "King of Comedy" and top box office draw in 50's

"Outside of his career, Lewis supported fundraising for muscular dystrophy research, serving for 60 years as spokesman for and national chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and has also hosted and emceed the live Labor Day weekend television broadcast of The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon for 44 years."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jerry_Lewis_MDA_Labor_Day_Telethon Charity staple that started the whole "Call in" fundraising format...

This is the film he never released to the public.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_Clown_Cried

Lot off curious information on the film itself..... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068451/?ref_=nm_flmg_wr_7

AND FOR BONUS.... https://stevenspielbergchronicles.tumblr.com/post/164449473756/jerry-lewis-comedy-legend-dies-at-91

and to think Steven Spielberg's mentor named his production company after Jerry Lewis gave him his congratulations....

Jerry Lewis was not a nobody...In my opinion, he was genuinely one of the most feared/powerful men in show business...(if not the Joker himself....and I'm dead serious...)

This "clown" shit is no joke....and the fact that no one has jumped all over your exquisite post reveals to me how little the folks around here now OR care about what's REALLY going on...

keep onto this shit if you got the stomach, either way good job...

Great information, and I've always wondered about Lewis myself. That photo of him pulling on Spielberg's beard is strange. Everyone looks so serious. I can hear Heath Leger's Joker now saying, "Why so sserioussss?"

It's also bizarre that this movie is referenced in so many others, including 'Cannibal Holocaust', Scooby Doo, The Shining, and others https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068451/movieconnections/?tab=mc&ref_=tt_trv_cnn

'Cannibal Holocaust' is deemed as one of the top ten most disturbing films http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/08/the-50-most-disturbing-movies/cannibal-holocaust

Spielberg also included the clown lamp and doll in 'Poltergeist'

During the scene where Robbie (Oliver Robins) is being strangled, the clown's arms became extremely tight and Robins started to choke. When he screamed out, "I can't breathe!" director Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper thought that the boy was ad-libbing and just instructed him to look at the camera. When Spielberg saw Robbins's face turning purple, he ran over and removed the clown's arms from Robbins' neck. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084516/trivia

From the same source as above: (At 34 minutes into the film) There is a "jump cut" from the scene where Diane is explaining to Steven about the feeling you get when the spirit pulls you across the floor. The scene jumps mid sentence to the scene where they are both on their neighbor's doorstep, again in mid sentence. The reason for the cut was because in the original scene, director Steven Spielberg says how he hates Pizza Hut. The scene was edited (rather crudely) after Pizza Hut took offence.

Also from the same source:

Both of the terrors that plague Robbie came from director Steven Spielberg's own fears as a child: a fear of clowns and a tree outside his window.

Again, same source:

Heather O'Rourke was chosen for the film when she was eating lunch with her mother and sister at an MGM commissary. Director Steven Spielberg came up to them and wanted O'Rourke for the part of Carol Anne. She initially failed the screentest because she kept laughing her way through the audition, even when she was supposed to be afraid. Spielberg thought she was too young to take the part seriously, but he still recognized something special in her, so he asked her to come back for another audition, and this time, bring a scary storybook with her. He also asked her to scream, so she screamed and screamed until she started crying. This audition got her cast as Carol Anne.

You have found a serious connection here between Lewis and Spielberg I hadn't identified before and I believe you're correct about Lewis' power in Hellywood. He was a feared person, and It's interesting that he gave the movie to the Library of Congress with one exception: Despite claims the film will never be screened, Lewis reportedly donated a copy of the film to the Library of Congress in 2015, under the stipulation that it wouldn't be screened before June 2024. Why this particular date? The only thing of significance I've found is that 2024 is a leap year, which means it has 366 days instead of 365.

As an aside, American Horror Story linked terrifying clowns with the election: https://www.bustle.com/p/the-ahs-cult-trailer-has-a-deeper-meaning-you-probably-missed-78269

Again, excellent connections you made and I welcome any additional info you can find.

Well if we're calling out grade A sickos and snuff films being hidden within large-scale movie productions, look no further than ELI ROTH...HE'S THE BEAR JEW FOR CHRIST SAKES....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli_Roth READ ENTIRE PROFILE AND LOOK WHO HIS FATHER IS...I never even got close to being able to watch 'Green Inferno', which appears to be a damn-near remake of 'Cannibal Holocaust'...and as an artist look at his personal works (directed/produce/written)...his past work/ life experience, his undeniable intellect, his cinematic knowledge, and his screenplay plots point to one conclusion...this is a genuine mass murdering, homicidal artist... https://78.media.tumblr.com/1d6509dbe3321eff8fbe364093494958/tumblr_nlaba18Uz81s0teago1_400.gif
